question for magazine editors

question for magazine editors

Postby Tom Berger » 1:49 pm 03/26/2009

I work at a magazine, and I'm trying to figure out how to streamline our production. Right now, we work in Quark (not likely to change soon), and every time someone makes changes in a story (the editors, the copy editors, the art people, the researchers), we print out a new hard copy and back up the electronic copy. We can end up with a packet of 15 printouts of one story.

What do y'all do at other magazines?

On a related note, if anyone has a routing sheet used to keep track of the work on a story that they wouldn't mind sharing, I would love to see some other examples. You can PM me about that.
