Re: Aspiring editor seeking help...
Good luck on the job. For the copyediting test, you could do an online search for "editing test," "proofreading test," or "copyediting test" and see what comes up. Some publishers have them tucked away on their websites, and you may be able to come across at least a few that way. (Of course, they don't generally provide the answers with them.)
There are probably better resources available that I'm not aware of, but there are a few online grammar tests you could check out, if you're concerned about grammar. One set is by Pam Nelson, the "Triangle Grammar Guide Quizzes," at: http://blogs.newsobserver.com/content/t ... de-quizzes
Another is at Newsroom101: http://www.newsroom101.com/NR_exercises/grammar/
These are all multiple choice or fill-in-the-blanks tests. Another set of tests is available on elance.com, although you may have to join (which is free) to access them. There are a variety of skills tests on copyediting (various styles), grammar, spelling, proofreading, etc. They're multiple choice as well.
