When to capitalize "room"
If a specific room— Room 15 — is used in an address, should it be capitalized? Additionally, if we're talking about a specific milepost on a stretch of highway — Milepost 84, say — should it also be capitalized?

I think that depends on your publication's style. I've seen room done different ways in different newspapers. Where I work, we don't capitalize it unless it's part of a bigger name. (Like the Hall of Fame Room.)

Re: When to capitalize "room"
I'm going to correct myself. We do capitalize room when it's a specific number room (like Room 207 of the Herrick Center). We don't with things like multipurpose room at City High School.
We don't, however, capitalize milepost with a number.
But like I said before, those things tend to be determined by publication. Our reasons for doing it that way might seem arbitrary to others, but if we're consistent with how we handle it, that's the goal.
If you're looking for generic guidance, AP style addresses capitalizing rooms with specific names (like Blue Room) but doesn't mention numbered rooms (at least in my version of the stylebook, which isn't the newest one).
