IMPORTANT ELECTION NOTICE:

Eight nominees are seeking election to the Executive Committee of the American Copy Editors Society. Four board seats are up for election.
Full members in good standing as of Feb. 1, 2006, are eligible to vote and were mailed ballots on Feb. 1, 2006. Ballots must be returned by mail and postmarked no later than March 13, 2006.
Nominees are required to be full members of ACES. Members of the Executive Committee shape the policy of the society and take on responsibility for projects and routine tasks. ACES operates by virtue of the voluntary efforts of its members, and anyone seeking a seat on the Executive Committee must be willing to spend a few hours each week on the business of the organization. Tasks can include, but aren’t limited to, researching topics, contacting sources, organizing meetings, making phone calls, sending e-mails, writing proposals and newsletter articles, working on surveys and fund raising. Members of the Executive Committee also are expected to attend the national conference and other periodic meetings, as well as take part in a monthly conference call.
ACES needs your vote to help determine the direction of the organization. Please review the information about the candidates and carefully follow the instructions on the ballot.
For questions about the election process, please contact ACES President Chris Wienandt at cwienandt@dallasnews.com, ACES Secretary Jeff Pierron at jpierron@ee.net or ACES Administrator Carol DeMasters at carolafj@execpc.com.
Thank you for your support of ACES.
