Caitlin Saniga, a senior at Kent State, is a rare two-time winner of the John S. Knight Scholarship, given by the Akron Press Club. She has interned at Waste & Recycling News and on the features desk at the Columbus Dispatch, where she set a goal of getting at least 10 good headlines published. By summer’s end, she had more than 250 headlines to add to her clip file. Caitlin also has honed her skills working on several of the university’s publications.
“I have never seen a student with so much passion for editing and so much genuine interest in others,” said Jan Leach, assistant professor/news at Kent State. “She is approachable and expert at the same time.”
