Merrill Perlman

Merrill Perlman, president of Merrill Perlman Consulting, is a consultant who works with the New York Times, ProPublica and Poynter, among other news organizations and companies. She’s an adjunct at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and writes the Language Corner column for Columbia Journalism Review. She retired from The New York Times in June 2008 after 25 years, most recently as director of copy desks. She has attended and presented at every ACES conference but the first and was awarded ACES’ Glamann Award at its 14th National Conference in Minneapolis.
