ACES discussion board closed

After five years and more than 5,500 posts, the ACES discussion board was permanently closed Sunday, May 29. The information will remain as an archive. The society's online committee encourages members and those seeking copy-editing discussions to try one or more of ACES' platforms:

@copyeditors on Twitter (http://twitter.com/copyeditors), a great place to keep up to date on ACES happenings and connect with other members. We use the #copyeditors hashtag to help others filter the conversation. This is open to nonmembers, too.

Friends of ACES on LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=162229), where you can professionally connect with others in the editing community. This group is maintained by ACES for those who are not members.

Members of ACES on LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1822517), another LinkedIn group designed specifically for our dues-paying members. The group features updates from the site, as well as our latest job postings.

ACES on Facebook (http://facebook.com/copyeditors), our outpost on the world's most popular social networking site. "Like" the page and you can get the latest updates, ask questions and share tips, tricks and stories.

And there's more to come in the months ahead, including more features and resources on copydesk.org and in our newsletter. While this portion of the website is closing, there's never been more reasons to be a member of ACES. Check out our membership page at http://copydesk.org/membership and join the society easily and securely with our online form.

If you have any questions or comments, please send me a note by private message or through email at dan@copydesk.org.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the forum over the years. It's been a great ride.
