I don’t regularly read USA Today; but since I work at one of the Gannett properties, I come across a copy once or twice a week. Today, while walking into the pressroom, this USAT snapshot caught my eye:

Plenty of bosses judge a candidate’s work on his or her resume — it’s a first impression. Can’t the same be said about a newspaper or publication? Isn’t our job as copy editors rooted in giving readers a good impression? All it takes is one mistake.
