ACES members come through for Education Fund

April 2, 2016 By Gerri Berendzen Conferences

The counting is done and results are in — the future of copy editing wins the night at ACES with the generosity of members who helped raise money for the ACES Education Fund.

Since 1999, the American Copy Editors Society Education Fund has awarded scholarships to deserving students who have a passion for editing. The fund has awarded a total of 88 scholarships to students who have a passion for editing.

More than $3,400 was raised during Friday night’s silent auction. When individual non-auction donations are added, the Ed Fund raised $9,300 total paid since Friday night. That amount is added to the $1,835 raised through Thursday night’s spelling bee.

[UPDATE! The auction yielded $4,481, and the EdFund raised a total of almost $13,000 from attendees. Thank you!]

People can still donate at the conference registration desk and through an online link.
