#ACESchat: New day, same time

September 13, 2013 By Gerri Berendzen ACES News

We’re changing the day of #ACESchat through the end of the year.

The Twitter chat about editing topics will be moving to the first and third Wednesdays of the month, starting Sept. 18. The time — 4-5 p.m. Eastern  — is not changing. The guest for Sept. 18 will be Mark Allen, an ACES Board of Directors member, blogger for Copyediting.com and freelance copy editor. He dispenses word and usage advice as @EditorMark on Twitter.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: Chats switch to a summer schedule of the second Wednesday of the month for June, July and August.)

On Sept. 18, Mark will be talking about setting up your virtual office and the tools of the editing trade — what books should be on your bookshelves, what apps, software and websites should you use, how can you connection with other editors while working in isolation.

Future topics will includes a career counseling session and a chat on editing and social media. If you have ideas for topics or are interested in helping moderate the chat, contact ACES Board of Directors member Gerri Berendzen at gerri@copydesk.org or @gerrrib on Twitter.

We’ll be archiving each chat using Storify, with a tweet sent through @copyeditors and a link posted here.
