The American Copy Editors Society is seeking two interns — a content intern to work on the newsletter and website and a corporate communications intern to help craft press release and doing other marketing tasks.
Both interns will work from home and be supervised by members of the ACES Executive Committee. The internships pay $600 each, with the time frame and hours flexible but equivalent to a semester’s work during the 2012-13 school year.
The content intern will generate and write stories about issues concerning copy editors and editing, and help do editing and proofing on the quarterly newsletter.
The intern will work with newsletter editor Gerri Berendzen, and may start work before the end of the current semester. The application deadline for the content internship is Nov. 28. To download an application and for more information, click here.
The corporate communications intern will generate corporate communication and marketing documents and help research contact information for both the ACES executive committee and the Education Fund board. The bulk of the work will be leading up to and during ACES national conference, which is April 4-6, 2013, in St. Louis.
The intern will work with several members of the Executive Committee, led by Karen Martwick. The application deadline is Dec. 15. To download an application for the internship, click here.
Applicants must be members in good standing of the American Copy Editors Society, however, students may join the society at the time of application. Applicants also should be currently enrolled in college, seeking a degree in the journalism/communications field. Graduates who received their degree in the past three months also are eligible.
