This year, 11 people are running for nine positions on the American Copy Editors Society’s executive committee. The two candidates for officer positions are unopposed; the top seven vote-getters among candidates for the non-officer committee positions will win the seats.
The candidates are presented below in order of position sought and then in alphabetical order. Click on each person to see biographical information and their answers to questions about what they can offer ACES and what their ideas are for the future of the organization. All information, including photographs, was provided by the candidates. Some candidates nominated themselves; some were nominated by other ACES members.
The term for each position is two years. Winners take their seats on April 15, 2012.
Electronic ballots will be available Feb. 15 to Feb. 29, and voting information will be sent to each member in good standing via e-mail. If you do not receive an e-mail, please contact Daniel Hunt at dan@copydesk.org.
